Exhibition at Splot Gallery, Sopot<\/em><\/p>\n

In September, Splot Gallery hosted the remarkable exhibition \u201cNorth Goes South \u2013 Waste We Didn\u2019t Create\u201d<\/em>, as part of the W Ramach Sopotu<\/em> Photography Festival. The city of Sopot presented works by the Ghanaian collective of artists and activists \u2013 THE REVIVAL<\/strong>. Through photography, installations, and video, the artists highlighted the dramatic problem of the global textile waste crisis, whose consequences are particularly severe for countries of the Global South.<\/p>\n

For us at Migaloo Home, this was a natural space for dialogue. Rooted in the idea of upcycling and less waste<\/em> design, we used the occasion to present a table designed by Monika B\u0142aszkowska<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Table Made of New Marble<\/strong>
This exceptional piece was crafted from New Marble<\/em> \u2013 a material resembling stone formation. Developed with Migaloo Home\u2019s patented technology, it is made from textile waste \u2013 primarily polyester and mixed fibers that are notoriously difficult to recycle. The fabric mass is bound with Green<\/em>, a binder that contains as much as 40% biocarbonates.<\/p>\n

The result? A board of extraordinary aesthetics, while being lightweight, functional, and aligned with the principles of circular design. The table presented at the exhibition proves that even the most challenging waste materials can be transformed into objects of high aesthetic and functional value.<\/p>\n
