Gdańsk in Color – an interior inspired by art
This apartment in Gdańsk is a space that immediately draws attention with its bold colors and expressive energy. Located at the intersection of historic architecture and post-shipyard industrial areas, it blends local context with a contemporary approach to interior design.
The starting point for the entire concept was art — the painting “Dangerous Game,” whose intense color palette set the direction for the arrangement. Color is not just an accent here, but the main protagonist of the interior. It shapes the atmosphere, guides the eye, and gives the space a strong, individual character.
The design is based on a thoughtful combination of textures and materials. Alongside modern forms, there are elements inspired by vintage and art déco aesthetics, adding depth and a subtle contrast to the space.
Amber plays a particularly important role in the project — a natural, warm material deeply connected to the region. The interior features custom terrazzo-style countertops with embedded amber, produced by Migaloo. These surfaces go beyond functionality, becoming distinctive design elements. Their unique structure, enriched with amber inclusions, creates a sense of depth and light, enhancing the overall character of the space.
The result is a cohesive and carefully curated composition, where design meets emotion. This interior shows that a bold use of color combined with a conscious approach to materials can create a space that is both modern, inviting, and full of personality.
