Furniture like paintings
Exhibition with artistic furniture “How did you sleep?”
Migaloo home was invited to take part in an exhibition, about design art in the bedroom space, at the turn of the century. The curator of the exhibition, Ms. Anna Ratajczak-Krajka, curator at the National Museum in Gdansk, saw a common denominator between the paintings that Monika Blaszkowska, founder of Migaloo Home, creates – and the handmade furniture boards, poured in the company’s studio. Both works used NØD panels – which is a furniture panel made from walnut shells. The bedside tables were made in one piece, and then the board was cut and the top and drawer fronts were made from it. The whole piece with the painting forms one collection. Natural Baltic amber, which is used for many decorations in the art studio, was also embedded in this furniture and the painting. Monika Blaszkowska is a member of the International Amber Association.
The exhibition is organized by the American mattress manufacturer Tempur. The exhibition is open until the end of 2024 in the Gallery located on the 1st floor of CH KLIF Gdynia.
