Manna 2, Warsaw – Service Counter Made from the Artistic Cork Decor Furniture Panel “Nomad’s Earth”
The new branch of the iconic plant-based restaurant from Tricity – Manna 2 in Warsaw, located on Poznańska Street – is a remarkable example of responsible design that seamlessly combines the philosophy of vegan cuisine with a deep awareness of material choices. We were invited to this project by architect Kacper Gronkiewicz, who, together with the restaurant’s owner, carefully selected natural, sustainable materials in line with the less waste approach.
A central element of the space is the bar counter, made from our artistic furniture panel Cork Decor, crafted entirely from recycled material. In this project, nicknamed “Nomad’s Earth”, the countertop was created from production waste generated during cork flooring manufacturing. Each piece was hand-placed and precisely arranged – forming a one-of-a-kind, organic structure reminiscent of cracked desert ground or natural, arid landscapes.
The architect personally determined both the layout of the cork elements and the color of the binder, allowing the panel to perfectly complement the interior concept, which draws inspiration from nature, nomadic culture, and raw, earthy textures.
The Cork Decor artistic panel was used in a heavy-duty service area – the main countertop at the bar pass. Despite high usage, it performs excellently, offering durability, dimensional stability, and resistance to external factors. The cork was not covered with any resin, only sanded down – preserving its natural scent and unique texture.
Our material was also used to create a lid for the outdoor blanket storage box, offering warmth and comfort to guests seated outside. This subtle detail contributes to the thoughtful cohesion of the entire design.
The countertop was built by Figury Niemożliwe, a skilled woodworking studio that successfully tackled the project’s technical complexity.
Against the backdrop of a bold red veneer, the Cork Decor panel creates a striking contrast, making each plated dish stand out beautifully.
